Your eldar strike force just deployed a shuriken cannon platform at a gigantic hallway inside an ork fort, mowing the orks in a hail of fury, after taking casualties the orks try to flank, and start to throw as many stikkbombs as they can at it.
-Roles should have some importance, not removed!
Not to mention there should be limits on what classes can do. I don't want to see devastators tanking nor do I need that howling banshee offering her invaluable ranged support.
Some melee specialists should have the option of being able to tank, as I don't see kiting around that Squiggoth rely viable with ranged only troops. Also, have some sort of regeneration system so that if you can't find a healer, so you arent completely f***ed.

Make bosses special, make them big nasty, give them some special rules, reinforcements, whatever floats your boat Vigil but for the love of god don't implement ANY "tank and spank" situations.
Really good points mate, i also think "tank and spank" situations should only be in dungeons and not in raids. When we start at low level it makes sense to fights be like "tank and spank" but if we get this tipe of situations in raids it only gets boring.
Of course like Malefactour says the situations with enrage are fun but i dont consider this a usual tank and spank situation, for me is just sit there clicking one button and wait for the boss to die because nothing will kill you xD.
