THQ lets slip the *planned* release date of Dark Millennium Online

Update: "It has come to THQ's attention that some media are reporting that we've announced game details and a release date for our upcoming massively multiplayer online project, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online. At this time THQ has not officially announced a release date and any reported features are pure speculation. THQ will announce confirmed game features and an official release date at a later time."

Well at least they stopped giving us dead air.

March 31st is the end of their fiscal year. They'll likely open up sales somewhere during the new year in order to get all the final (non-pre-order) sales on record. It's like saying, "yeah, we're just going to eat this loss, but if you stop investing/drop out now, you'll miss out on DMO." It's an absolute certainty that the pre-order numbers will be off the charts (like all MMO games), so regardless of the success or failure, they'll probably make their money back and get a lot of money through new investors, which they can then spend on other crap.

So I don't doubt the actual release will be somewhere around there, and if not within a few days of March 31st, then before the second quarter.

Now give us some more info on the game and tell the marketing department not to hype is unto oblivion. We know that did so well for another warhamemr themed MMO.

I think we knew this a while back and agreed it was a speculative date anyway!

Besides, anything thats over a year out probably isn't worth getting hyped up for! (in our case about 1.5 years out...and thats without delays!)

Still, would prefer some news from the devs...or be able to communicate with them

It's nice to know that they will have time that way if they mess up, I can legitly say WTF not overlook it because the publishers rushed it but then sadness for it being so far off. Been digging the interwebz for a game to hold the place of WoW and looks like until 2012 mmos are all the same.

At the same time I'm sad that it is so far away. I am glad that they are taking their time with this game. Hopefully we will not be disappointed after the long wait.
