So! I was thinking about the progression of orks in a WAAAGH! and how the main warboss is in control of smaller groups of orks with their own warbosses and how this could be put to use to not only enhance PVE but mix it in with PVP. Now, it is fairly common knowledge that Nobs, when the warboss dies or they feel like the warboss isn't so tough, they fight amongst themselves to see who is the strongest.

So, naturally, I thought that IF Vigil implements a progression system that worked its way up to a Nob, then every week or so, every player in a region who is the equivalent of a Nob can enter into a form of FFA combat in an Arena Format that would, whoever was left alive, would be given the title of Warboss of some small warband within the WAAGH!. There would be more than one of these FFA matches that would end with at least five to ten "warbosses" that would gain the title of "warboss {name}. They would get the title and some cosmetic items, possibly some Warboss equivelent item, but the real benefit would be that whenever any other ork was near you, they would receive some sort of bonus. Only these select few Warbosses would be able to launch large scale PVE Raids that consisted of Orks as well!

Also, depending on what route you took like being a shooty ork, melee ork, or a Psyker ork, your new Warboss model will reflect that!

It might also be possible for a player to gain the warboss status if you beat one in a duel!
What other types of things should a warboss get?! :D :D :D

These are just the really basic ones that a person could be a warboss of. Obviously one of these would be the head Warbosses clan, but beyond that a very skilled(proven by topping everyone in Multiplayer) Ork player could gain bonuses for leading said warbands as well as give his/her similar ork clans a "aura" that benefited others! Vigil could make a few more of course to spice up their lore! : ]

Bad Moons - The richest Ork clan, due to their teef growing quicker. The closest thing Orks have to a merchant class.
Blood Axes - Distrusted by other clans, the Blood Axes make use of un-orky tactics such as camouflage and even battleplans.
Deathskulls - Famed looters and scavengers.
Evil Sunz - Speedfreaks and lovers of vehicles.
Goffs - Close combat specialists.
Snakebites - Staunch traditionalists, distrust many forms of technology.
What do you guys think of my idea? Criticism in this time of no new information is critical!

No I think that would be to much. Becoming a nob yes but a warboss? No the current Warboss wouldn't stand for that and probably cut of your head for calling yourself warboss :P.

lol probably! However, I remember reading that under particularly large Waaghs, mini-warbosses were used to help coordinate the big warbosses orders.

The lower warbosses are called Big Nobz not warboss.

Who says that a warboss has to be the warboss of any of the fluff factions? The big point of Warhammer 40,000 is suppose to be army customization right? People tend to make their own armies, more so in the games than anything else though. So what's stopping THQ from allowing players to make their own Waaagh! Even if I can't actually be a Warboss, class wise, if I start a guild/clan/whatever in DMO, I'll be a Warboss that way. So long as I get a bike, I'll be mad if I can't get a warbike.

Some nifty things I'd like to see for a Warboss Class:
WAAAGH! Banners - A banner the Warboss can plant in the ground, gives a bit of a damage boost to players within 'insert feet/yards here'. Lasts for one minute. Think of it like granting mini crits in TF2.

Da' Boyz - Calls 2 - 3 Ork Boyz to aid the Warboss in combat for 10 seconds. 10 seconds is a long time in most MMOs.

Boss Pole - Similar to a WAAAGH! Banner, only it boosts attack speed instead of damage and works more like a Paladin's aura.

Trophies - After defeating a player, the Warboss may mount said player's head on their rack or Boss Pole. No effect, just a vanity/humiliation thing.
